How The Atlas Uses Information
Information exists to improve your personal Atlas.
Personal information is used to help the Atlas remember, organize, recommend, protect, and respond. It is not gathered to sell your tasting history, chase advertising, or manipulate what a bottle means to you. The Atlas does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and it is intended only for adults 21 and older.

Can anyone read my Journal?
No. Your Journal is private by default and belongs to your member account.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Members can delete their account, and their member records are handled as described in the Formal Privacy Policy below.
Who can see my Flavor Profile?
Your Flavor Profile is private and exists to guide your own Atlas experience.
Why does the Atlas remember bottles?
Memory lets the Atlas connect bottle knowledge to your own tasting history without turning that history into advertising.

About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Whiskey Flavor Atlas (“Whiskey Flavor Atlas,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Atlas.
Information We Collect
Whiskey Flavor Atlas may collect account details, membership information, saved bottles, journal entries, collection records, favorites, wishlist items, flavor profile signals, recommendation interactions, contact messages, Lounge posts, replies, reactions, and reports, and basic technical information needed to operate and protect the service.
The Lounge
If you use the Lounge, we store the posts and replies you write, the room each belongs to, the post it replies to, when it was posted and last edited, and the reactions you leave (Cheers, Noted, or Agreed) with when you left them. When you edit a post we keep only the latest wording. Your posts and reactions are shown with your display name, never your email address. They are visible to current Atlas Collector and Atlas Connoisseur members and to Whiskey Flavor Atlas moderators. Atlas Explorer members and the public cannot see them. If you report a post, your report, its reason, and any details you add are visible only to you and our moderators. To keep the Lounge safe, moderators can see all posts, including hidden ones, along with reports, moderation notes, and any mutes or bans placed on an account. A post hidden by a moderator stays visible to its author and moderators until it is deleted.
How We Use Information
Information is used to provide the Atlas, maintain member accounts, preserve personal tasting records, generate personal recommendations, respond to messages, improve editorial accuracy, protect the platform, and meet legal or operational obligations.
What We Do Not Sell
Whiskey Flavor Atlas does not sell personal tasting history, private journal entries, flavor profile data, or member collection records. Personal Atlas records are not used as advertising inventory. We do not sell Lounge posts, reactions, or reports, and we do not use them for advertising.
Sharing And Service Providers
Limited information may be processed by service providers that help operate hosting, authentication, email, payments, security, or support. Providers are chosen with care and may use information only to provide their service to Whiskey Flavor Atlas.
Cookies, Analytics, And Technical Data
Whiskey Flavor Atlas does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. The site uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work, such as remembering that you have confirmed you are of legal drinking age and, once member accounts are available, keeping you signed in. Our hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as IP addresses and browser details, in server logs to deliver and protect the site.
Retention, Export, And Deletion
Member records are kept while an account is active, or for as long as they are needed for operational, security, legal, or backup purposes. Members can correct their records and delete their account. Data export is not available yet. Lounge posts and reactions are kept until you or a moderator delete them. Deleting a post also deletes its reactions and any reports about it, and replies to it remain without the link to the deleted post. Deleting your account deletes your Lounge posts, reactions, reports, and moderation records. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time before they are overwritten.
Age Requirement
The Atlas is not intended for anyone under 21, and Whiskey Flavor Atlas does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we learn that information was provided by someone under 21, we will delete it.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site and, once member accounts are available, emailed to members.

To access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to ask about this Privacy Policy, email hello@whiskeyflavoratlas.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
