Every Atlas is built on trust.

The Atlas is a shared place for thoughtful learning, careful record keeping, and respectful conversation.

Legal Section

  1. About These Terms

    These Terms of Service govern your use of the Whiskey Flavor Atlas website and memberships, which are operated by Whiskey Flavor Atlas (“Whiskey Flavor Atlas,” “we,” “us”). By using Whiskey Flavor Atlas, you agree to these Terms of Service and to any other Whiskey Flavor Atlas policies that apply to the Atlas experience, including the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Atlas.

  2. Age Requirement

    Whiskey Flavor Atlas discusses alcohol. You must be 21 or older, the legal drinking age in the United States, to use the Atlas or create an account.

  3. Accounts And Membership

    Members are responsible for maintaining accurate account information and protecting account access. Whiskey Flavor Atlas offers three memberships: Atlas Explorer, Atlas Collector, and Atlas Connoisseur. Each membership includes everything in the one before it, as described on the Memberships page. Atlas Explorer is free. Atlas Collector and Atlas Connoisseur are paid memberships. If you delete your account, your records are handled as described in our Privacy Policy, except for any information we must keep to meet legal or operational obligations.

  4. Billing, Renewal, And Cancellation

    Paid memberships are billed in advance on a recurring basis: Atlas Collector at $4.99 per month and Atlas Connoisseur at $9.99 per month. Membership content becomes available once payment is received. Paid memberships renew automatically at the start of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and keep access through the end of your current paid period, after which your membership ends and does not renew. Payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.

  5. Suspension And Termination

    We may suspend or end access to the Atlas for anyone who violates these Terms of Service. You may stop using the Atlas at any time. Paid memberships can be cancelled as described under Billing, Renewal, And Cancellation.

  6. Member Content

    Members may create journal entries, collection records, saved bottles, and other personal content. Members remain responsible for the content they submit and must not upload unlawful, infringing, abusive, or misleading material. Your journal entries, notes and collection records remain yours; you give Whiskey Flavor Atlas permission only to store and display them to you as needed to run the Atlas.

  7. The Lounge

    The Lounge is a members-only conversation space. Atlas Collector and Atlas Connoisseur members may read and post in it, and Atlas Explorer members may see the list of rooms. When you post in the Lounge you agree to its house rules: be courteous and disagree about whiskey, never about each other; you must be 21 or older; do not buy, sell, or trade alcohol or offer to; and do not share links, which are switched off for now. Do not post personal information about yourself or others, spam, or anything unlawful, infringing, abusive, or misleading. Lounge posts are visible to other Atlas Collector and Atlas Connoisseur members and to Whiskey Flavor Atlas moderators. They are not private, so do not post anything you want to keep to yourself. Lounge posts are members' personal opinions, not statements by Whiskey Flavor Atlas, and are not professional, medical, legal, or investment advice.

  8. Lounge Posts And Moderation

    You keep ownership of what you post in the Lounge. By posting, you give Whiskey Flavor Atlas a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and moderate your posts in the Lounge for as long as they remain there. We do not use Lounge posts outside the Lounge without your permission. You can edit a post for 15 minutes after posting and delete your own posts. We may hide or delete any post, and limit, mute, suspend, or remove a member's access to the Lounge or the Atlas, when we believe a post or member breaks these Terms of Service or the house rules. We are not required to monitor every post and are not responsible for what members post. You can report a post to our moderators from the Lounge or by emailing hello@whiskeyflavoratlas.com. If your Atlas Collector or Atlas Connoisseur membership ends, you can no longer read or post in the Lounge, but your existing posts stay unless you delete them, delete your account, or ask us to remove them.

  9. Atlas Content

    Whiskey Flavor Atlas owns or licenses its editorial content, design, imagery, data structure, page composition, and brand assets. Content may not be copied, scraped, republished, or commercially reused without permission.

  10. Corrections And Availability

    The Atlas may revise bottle information, editorial notes, images, pages, features, pricing information, membership details, or service availability to improve accuracy, safety, compliance, or product quality.

  11. Responsible Use

    Users may not abuse the service, create fraudulent accounts, interfere with security, misuse member tools, violate intellectual property rights, or use the Atlas in a way that harms other members or the platform.

  12. Disclaimer

    The Atlas is an editorial and personal record-keeping platform. Everything in it, including tasting notes, ratings, recommendations, editorial content, and member posts in the Lounge, is provided “as is” for information and enjoyment and is not professional, medical, or legal advice. Whiskey Flavor Atlas does not guarantee bottle availability, pricing, investment value, health outcomes, or legal eligibility to purchase alcohol in any jurisdiction.

  13. Limitation Of Liability

    To the extent permitted by law, Whiskey Flavor Atlas is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Atlas. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Atlas is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

  14. Changes To These Terms

    We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes are posted on this page, and material changes will be highlighted on the site. If you continue to use the Atlas after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms of Service.

  15. Governing Law

    These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States of America.
